Aurora parents welcome their own prince and princesses

As The Duchess of Cambridge gave birth to Prince George — now third in line to the throne — on Monday, three Aurora families welcomed their very own princes and princesses at Southlake.

Among them were Andrea and Jay Vroom, and big sister Grace, who welcomed 8lb 14 oz James William into the world at 10.11 a.m., beating the little prince by just a couple of hours.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have named their son “Prince George Alexander Louis”.

James had been one of the hotly tipped names for the Prince according to British bookmakers, but the name simply appealed to the Vrooms.

Two Aurora girls also share their birthdays with James and George and, in total, Southlake welcomed “seven princesses and three princes” on Monday, according to Judy Murdoch of Southlake.

Following Monday’s Baby Boom, Aurora leaders offered congratulations and a few words of wisdom to the new parents:

MP Lois Brown: “I am thrilled for them. I remember when my first child was born and there is nothing like it in the world. My advice to them would be to enjoy every moment because the babies grow up so fast. Of all the things I have done in my life, being mum is the very best, so just enjoy every moment.

“Congratulations to all of the new parents and welcome to these wonderful new miracles.

“I think this is a wonderful new addition. Kate and Will really made an impression when they came on their first royal tour here and I think there is a lot of affection from Canadians to them.”

MPP Frank Klees: “I add my congratulations and best wishes to the Duke and Duchess as they assume the responsibilities of parenting. That is difficult enough, let alone the little bundle is third in line for the throne!”

Mayor Geoffrey Dawe: “Congratulations to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge on the safe arrival of their baby son. Parenthood is a blessing that bestows a lifetime of joy, fulfilment, and pride. My advice would be to enjoy him for his individuality – and don’t spoil him too much!”
