The 2026 Municipal Election is fast approaching and it’s time to double check to make sure your voter information is accurate before Aurorans go to the polls on Monday, October 26.
This year’s Voters List went public August 12 at aurora.ca/Vote2026 and between now and October 1, residents are asked to take a look and see whether any changes need to be made.
“The Town of Aurora is encouraging eligible voters to take an important first step towards participating in the 2026 Municipal and School Board Election by ensuring their voter information is accurate and up-to-date,” says the Town of Aurora. “Taking a few minutes to review voter information now can help make sure you receive important election-related information without delay. This includes checking your school support, birthdate, updating your mailing address, adding eligible household members, or removing individuals who have passed away.
“Voting is your chance to have a say in the future of Aurora. Every ballot helps shape the decisions and priorities that will guide our community in the years ahead.”
To be eligible to vote in the upcoming election, you must be a Canadian citizen, at least 18 years of age, must live in Aurora – or you or your spouse must own or rent property in Aurora – and you must not be prohibited from voting by law.
The deadline to register as a Mayoral, Council, or Education Trustee candidate is this Friday, August 21, and here’s where the ballot stood at the start of the week:
