Thousands took part in Aurora’s three-day Canada Day bash, not only celebrating Canada’s 147th Birthday, but also Aurora’s milestone 150th.
People lined Yonge Street as colourful floats, musicians, dancers, and local dignitaries made their way down Yonge Street from Orchard Heights to Murray Drive celebrating the occasion. Following the parade, residents were invited to Lambert Willson Park for traditional Canada Day Festivities, including music, dancing, food, an around-Canada adventure, the crowning of Aurora’s new Teen Idol, and a spectacular pyrotechnic display.
