Careless smoking cause of house fire last week

Careless smoking is named as the cause of a residential house fire on Elyse Court last week.
On Monday, March 26, Central York Fire Services (CYFS) responded to a call on Elyse Court, near Mavrinac Boulevard and Wellington Street East, where they found a fire in the basement and the rear of a home.
No one was home at the time of the fire.
By the following day, the CYFS completed their investigation and determined the cause.
Six CYFS apparatus were involved in the incident, with additional resources from York Regional Police and York Paramedic Services responding to the call.
Richmond Hill Fire and East Gwillimbury Fire Services also provided assistance.
