Tigers host international clubs in friendly competition

While the eyes of the hockey world watched the best in junior North America and Europe battle it out in Buffalo, the future stars were representing their country at home in Aurora.
An unprecedented display of hockey in Aurora was taken in by hundreds of fans on January 2 at the Aurora Community Centre, when the Aurora Minor Hockey Association welcomed six teams from across Finland and Norway in a one-day exhibition series.
Coming from Finland was Jokerit of Helsinki, Tappara of Tampere, and GriFK of Kauniainan, while the Norwegian squad of Furusey reigned from Oslo.
Representing the Tigers were the PeeWee AE, Bantam A, Minor PeeWee AA, Minor Bantam A, Minor Bantam AA, and Bantam AA squads.
The sides split the games at three wins apiece, the icing on the cake of a friendly day of competition.
