The Aurora Seniors have organized “Help the Aurora Food Bank” through December 11. Donation of non-perishable foods or cash are welcome. Each donation earns you a star which is hung on our Christmas Tree.

Keep Singing!
Our Keep Singing group will be visiting the following retirement /nursing homes to sing Christmas songs :
Cobblestone Lodge November 28 10.30 am
Aurora Resthaven December 5 10.30 am
Presbyterian Church December 12 11.00 am
Hollandview Trail December 19 10. 30 am
It is a worthwhile cause and they had their first sing-a-long last Friday at Willows Estates on Yonge Street. This Keep Singing group has been organized by Judy Buchanan and Dave Griffith, who also plays guitar.

HEAR YE! HEAR YE! HEAR YE!

Let it be known that on Saturday, the fourteenth day of December at 2.30 p.m., there will be music, singing and general good fellowship to be enjoyed in the West McKenzie Hall at the Aurora Seniors’ Centre.
The Evergreen Choir, under the direction of Dr. Richard Heinzle, will present We Need a Little Christmas, accompanied by Hadara Jacoby at the piano and with a guest appearance of the Five Strong Winds.
Tickets: $5.00 (children 14 and under are free, but tickets are required) Light refreshments will be served at intermission, and there will be a draw presented by our sponsor, Stella Switzer, Chairperson of the Evergreen Choir.

ASA-Volunteer Appreciation Evening
on behalf of all our ASA-Volunteers we thank the Town of Aurora, Al Downey Director of Parks & Recreation and his staff for hosting a dinner and entertainment evening for us all. Special thanks to Karie Papillon, our Seniors Coordinator, Bill Hawke, our Facility Caretaker for organizing and setting up this enjoyable event.
They all are very supportive of our Volunteers. For the year ended December 2012 our ASA-Volunteers logged in 17,300 hours and that’s being on the conservative side.
