Dinner seating might be sold out, but lunch tickets are still available for the annual Empty Bowls fundraiser hosted by the Pine Tree Potters Guild.

This year’s event, which benefits Welcoming Arms and Inn From the Cold, will be held Tuesday, October 6 at the Aurora Cultural Centre.

Lunch sittings are slated from 11.30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 1.30 to 3 p.m.

Founded in 2010, the event has, to date, raised over $75,000 for charity. Lunch tickets are $50 each. Ahead of Empty Bowls, potters make and donate handcrafted soup bowls and area restaurants donate soup or bread. Before the meal, guests choose a soup bowl from hundreds on display.

During the event, guests can enjoy tasting the entire collection of signature soups and artisan breads, listen to local musicians, purchase some wine and bid on silent auction items.

Patrons are able to take home their chosen bowl, which serves as a reminder not everyone has a full bowl each day.

Tickets are available ahead of the event from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Guild (15145 Yonge Street, basement of Aurora Public Library). Thereafter, tickets can be purchased at Meridian Credit Union at 297 Wellington Street East.
