Local business stepped up following fire

May 28, 2014   ·   0 Comments

As members of the downtown community, we were devastated to watch the fire at Aurora United Church on Friday, April 11.
We were two “old neighbours”, with the church building dating to 1878, and the Aurora Public School opening in 1886. We have grieved their loss.
As the smoke permeated the downtown that day and into the evening, we were obliged to postpone a scheduled concert, and grew concerned about the air quality within the Centre which had the potential to affect gallery art, theatre curtains, upholstered chairs, staff, volunteers and guests.
We wish to acknowledge the speedy and professional response offered by Master Clean Contracting and Cleaning.
They were on site on the Friday evening to assess the situation, and by early Saturday morning had a large number of fans and filters stationed throughout Centre to mitigate the lingering smoke smell. Their work continued all weekend and, once the fans were removed, absolutely no residual smell remained.
When we requested the invoice, Bill Hanlon of Master Clean simply replied “No charge – it is our way of helping.” We are grateful for their community support at a difficult time, and thank Master Clean Contracting and Cleaning for their incredible generosity.
