I stand by my “Facts”, says reader

H. Grimset has questioned the information I provided in my open letter to MP Leona Alleslev on Trudeau’s promise to fast-track 25,000 Syrian refugees.
Firstly, Grimset questioned my reference to a European and Middle East counterfeiting industry for Syrian passports. Counterfeit Syrian passports have been reported by the BBC, The Wall Street Journal and numerous other sources. If you check the French news reports, you will also find that I was accurate when I stated that a fake Syrian passport was found on one of the Islamic extremists who killed and injured 500 innocent people shutting down Paris.
Secondly, Grimset does not believe that a handful of extremists entering our country could create acts of terrorism against our population and asks me for facts to back this up. I guess Grimset has not heard about the Via train plot, or the Toronto 18 who were plotting a series of mass killings? If it was not for savvy investigators, we would have had terrible losses of human life.
Thirdly, in response to my question I posed which was “Where are Syria’s oil wealthy neighbours Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates, who have not taken in one refugee?” Grimset refers to this as an untrue statement however, The Washington Post, Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch substantiate my assertion.
Finally, Grimset states “let’s be real, those who believe in it (ISIS caliphate) are happy to stay put.” On the contrary, ISIS spreads their hateful ideology worldwide instantaneously through the internet and social media. ISIS previously controlled large areas of Syria and Iraq but has spread like a cancer to Yemen, Libya, Egypt, Algeria, Tunisia, Pakistan and has recently appeared in Afghanistan.
I stand by my facts.
