Aurora residents wouldn’t let it rain on their parade at Monday’s annual Arctic Adventure.
Families came out in droves to Aurora Town Park despite the Family Day weather, taking part in events ranging from outdoor skating, to snow tubing, mini “ice fishing”, and body zorbs.
Some hometown flavour kicked off the festivities at the band shell in the morning, with the vocal stylings of Louisa Barbosa hitting the stage, the 2015 Aurora Teen Idol with her rock trio Louisa and the Planets.
They were joined musically by the Fat Cat Jamboree as well as Toronto’s Stacey Renee Band, while professional ice carvers battled it out in the “Battle of the Chainsaws”.
Mayor Geoff Dawe called the event “an opportunity to get families moving,”, and “enjoy what the Town has to offer.”
