18 year old Cadet Chief Warrant Officer Regina Madarello from 2799 Queen’s York Rangers Royal Canadian Army Cadet Corps in Aurora had an amazing and well deserved opportunity to represent Canada this summer while training in Australia.

She was presented the Ambassador’s Award by Lieutenant-Colonel R. Evans, Commanding Officer of Regional Cadet Unit (Central). Army Cadet Exchange, Australia, is an advanced training course offered to senior cadets participating in the Canadian Cadet Program who have displayed dedication, knowledge, and perseverance at their local cadet unit and previous summer training courses.

Mandarello has been in cadets for 6 years, she joined for the opportunity to learn how to shoot, and since then she has traveled, done regional expeditions, and had

various leadership opportunities. She has won top cadet at her home corps, as well as esprit de corps. She will be going into second year college at Seneca College.

In her free time she enjoys weight lifting and playing basketball.
