A thank you to Pine Tree Potters Guild

February 24, 2016   ·   0 Comments

Pine Tree Potters Guild hosted its sixth Empty Bowls event on November 19, 2015.
Overall, the event was an overwhelming success raising funds that were shared by Inn From the Cold, Newmarket and Welcoming Arms, Aurora.
Welcoming Arms is blessed to be a recipient of the Guild’s generosity and we are deeply grateful for their commitment to host the annual Empty Bowls fundraising event.
The objectives for “Empty Bowls” events are to raise funds for charities that work to relieve hunger and homelessness in our community plus assist in building awareness about these charities.
Local potters make and donate handcrafted soup bowls.
Area restaurants donate soup or bread, businesses donate goods and services, and community members volunteer their time.
As stated by the Pine Tree Potters Guild, “Not everyone has a full bowl every day” but the support that is provided to local charities from the proceeds of this wonderful event goes a long way to filling the bowls of some of the most at risk for food security and homelessness in our community.
Thank you!

Julie Cruickshank
Executive Director, Welcoming Arms
