Members of Parliament Vote on Liberal Budget

May 25, 2016   ·   0 Comments

The Parliamentary Budget Officer (PBO) has issued his full analysis of the Liberal government’s 2016 budget, confirming that the former Conservative government left the Liberals with a budgetary surplus.
The PBO also confirmed the Liberals broke their election promise of borrowing only $10 billion this year. They will indeed borrow much more. In the meantime, the Liberals have also been manipulating their numbers. These PBO findings show that the Liberals just can’t be trusted with Canada’s finances.
Immediately after the release of the report, Members of Parliament convened in the House of Commons for a vote on the Liberal budget. Conservatives took a strong stand and voted against it.
However, as you may know, your Member of Parliament, Kyle Peterson, voted in favour of raising taxes on families, students and small businesses. They also voted in favour of running massive deficits with no plan to return Canada back to budgetary balance.
If you share my concerns, please contact your MP and urge them to work on keeping taxes low and spending in check, and come up with a real jobs plan to help get hard-working Canadians back to work.
