Aurora Master Ducks Dan Thompson sets World Record!
By Adam Porteous

Dan Thompson, one of the elite swimmers of the Aurora Master Ducks Swim Team, is a former Olympian who has shown no signs of slowing down in his masters swimming career.

He draws the attention of everyone at his competitions as he is usually lined up alongside the top swimmers in Canada, regardless of their age, and usually comes out on top!

He had a great 2012-2013 season representing the Master Ducks, breaking numerous Provincial, Canadian National and World Records. While competing in London at the Provincial Masters Championships, Dan stepped up and swam an event he doesn’t usually compete in: the 100 metre freestyle.
Not really knowing what to expect, everyone watched in awe as Dan dominated the competition as he normally does, breaking a Canadian record in his first freestyle event.

The following day, Dan broke two World Records, one in the 50 metre Butterfly, and the other in the 100 metre Butterfly. Butterfly is not the easiest stroke to swim, not to mention break a world record in, but Dan only gets stronger throughout his races.

Posting times that are exceptionally fast for anyone at the top of their game, Dan once again dominated the competition while setting these world records.
Apparently Dan was holding back though as two months later he broke his own Canadian record in the 100 metre Freestyle, and followed up that performance with another world record in the 50 metre Butterfly.
