Election was a success – in theory

The election is over and, predictably, concerns were raised about the Aurora’s voter turnout of only 35.74 per cent.
By our usual definition, this election was fair and democratic.
That is to say, everyone knew the rules and there were not imposed barriers to prevent any of the qualified voters from marking their ballots.
Therefore, 100 per cent of the qualified voters exercised their democratic right – to vote for the candidates of their choice – OR NOT.
