Aurora Sports Hall of Fame receives Charter Cornerstone donation from PACE

In the first year of operation, the Aurora Sports Hall of Fame Board of Governors initiated a Charter Cornerstone Campaign to help fund the development of the Sports Hall of Fame.

On October 21, with less than one month until the Charter Donors finish, PACE Credit Union proved that they are indeed “Well beyond a Bank” by donating $5000.00 to the Aurora Sports Hall of Fame to help it build their presence in the Community.

PACE Credit Union Vice-President of Business Development Dan Coldwell said “We are proud to be associated with the Town of Aurora and the Aurora Sports Hall of Fame.

As a local business, we are pleased to support worthwhile projects such as the Aurora Sports Hall of Fame and we see the importance of this for the education of our youth in sport history as well as the inspiration it provides for them.”

“We are honoured that PACE Credit Union has chosen us to sponsor,” said Ron Weese, Board Chair. “PACE last year sponsored one of our Inductees at the Induction Ceremony and this year they have continued to support us with this donation. As with all Cornerstone donations, it will be used to help build the Aurora Sports Hall of Fame as an attraction and asset for the Community.”

Charter donors are those who contribute $5000.00 or more to the Aurora Sports Hall of Fame prior to the second Induction evening which this year takes place on November 5th, at The Mansion Events Centre in Aurora. Tickets for the event are now sold out.

PACE Credit Union now joins the Aurora Mayor’s Golf Classic, the Town of Aurora, St. Andrew’s College, Seneca College and Magna International as Charter Cornerstone Donors.

Charter Cornerstone Donors are recognized in perpetuity in the Aurora Sports Hall of Fame on a special Plaque in the Hall and are honoured guests to the Induction Dinner each year.

The Aurora Sports Hall of Fame was established in November 2013 by Sport Aurora and with the financial support of the Ontario Trillium Foundation. The Aurora Sports Hall of Fame (ASHoF) is a celebration of sport history and excellence; dedicated to the recognition of the important place that sport has assumed within the fabric of Aurora.

Every person who values the contribution of sport to our Community and Country is a part of that commemoration.

ASHoF is a not-for-profit organization that is affiliated with the Town of Aurora, Sport Aurora, the Aurora Historical Society, the Canadian Sports Hall of Fame and the Canadian Association of Sports Heritage.
