“Mayor’s rebuttal” doesn’t wash with Kean

I can’t believe that Mr. Dawe, in my opinion, has such a short memory. Wow, he states that I asked for his support. What a crock that is. I went door-to-door on his street and I had no idea who he was the first time that I ran.
He said that I could put a sign on his lawn. I did not know his name and I was asking everyone if I could put a sign on his lawn.
By his statement he actually thought that I knew him. Wrong.
He avoids, as usual, answering the real question: did he promise to get Council’s hand out of taxpayers’ pockets? I have a copy of his brochure and, yes, he did promise that.
He does not answer why Don Constable managed to get voted in by Dawe’s Council over other more suitable opponents.
He does not answer any questions about the cost of the revamp of the original Centre on Industrial.
He does not answer the questions about over costs
under his watch. He does not answer whether the taxpayers of Aurora can afford a new home for the Works Department and the extra costs over the original quote.
He does not answer whether he did or did not say that it was OK for Council to charge alcohol to residents.
He makes a statement that his tax increases are “much” less than Councils that I sat on with Tim Jones and his group of five as mayor. Please produce those numbers as proof.
Mr. Dawe, what are you going to promise this time?
I have nothing against you, but I do have a lot against the way things have gone since you were elected mayor.

Nigel Kean
Aurora
