Full day kindergarten back on at St. Joseph

Full day kindergarten will be back on at St. Joseph Catholic Elementary School this fall after all, following a decision made Monday by the York Catholic District School Board (YCDSB).

The Board of Trustees approved the move following an outcry from local parents. According to a statement released by the YCDSB, the full-day kindergarten program will be back on track in time for the first day of school, scheduled for September 2, but how long it will be in place remains to be seen.

“[Full Day Kindergarten] will be in place until St. Joseph offers Single Track French Immersion only,” said the Board in a statement. “Parents with children born in 2009 and 2010 are welcome to register for Full-Day Kindergarten with priority being given to siblings of students currently registered at St. Joseph.”

Registration is ongoing, with applications being accepted at the YCDSB (320 Bloomington Road West, Aurora) through August 21.
