“More logical thinking” needed from MPP: reader

Mr. Ballard states that the Pan American Games are bigger than the Montreal Olympics.
Sometimes it is possible that excitement about events can go over our head but you expect more logical thinking from a politician.
The Pan American games can be compared to, and may be, bigger than the European Games which recently concluded in Europe. Anyone heard about it? Or the Asian Games, or maybe Pan African games, but you cannot compare it to the history, traditions and global involvement and participation of the Olympics.
These are preliminary testing grounds for the athletes preparing for the forthcoming Olympics.
It is great that they are being held in Ontario, and the $3.74 billion input into Ontario GDP is welcome.
But ask any athlete which medal he would prefer to wear. I am certain the answer is obvious.
