I wanted to thank The Auroran for first introducing a story about an all-cancer survivor band called the Lymphomaniacs.
\nThey were hoping to find a female singer who was also a cancer survivor.
\nWell, that was me \u2013 a survivor of bone cancer in which there are four documented cases to date in all of Canada. Through your paper I was able to audition and become a Lymphomaniac. That begun a deep and caring friendship with our band, especially the founder of the band, Mr. Bobby Mowers.
\nThis month we marked Bobby\u2019s passing.
\nI had to openly thank your paper for talking about this band to the over 200 people who attended the service in which Bobby had decided as to which music, and which readings and people who would speak. And, of course, our band, the Lymhomaniacs performed two of Bobby\u2019s favourite pieces.
\nBobby was the founder, the heart and soul to this wonderful band of extremely talented musicians. Although I feel very much like a lost soul, and have lost forever a wonderful friend, a brother from another mother, I have to thank The Auroran for bringing this story to everyone\u2019s attention and for helping me fulfill a lifelong dream of being a part of the band.
\nWe are all mourning Bobby\u2019s passing and really it is Bobby\u2019s band, but I also know he would want this band to continue. Sometimes with the stories you write, you might think, \u201cI wonder if anything comes of them, any results, any hope.\u201d
\nI can tell you from the bottom of my heart thank you for bringing the Lymphomaniacs to light.
\nThere were so many incredible things that Bobby and I had in common, the love of these shows, popcorn, chocolate, old classic movies, and music \u2013 especially The Beatles.
\nThank you Auroran for giving me a gift that has been burned into my heart for as long as I live.<\/p>\n
