development coming to Highland Gate: ClubLink"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>By Brock Weir<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Aurora\u2019s Highland Gate Golf Course is to be developed for housing, according to landowner ClubLink.<\/p>\n<p>ClubLink and Geranium Corporation released a joint statement Tuesday announcing a \u201c50-50 joint venture\u201d that will result in a \u201cone-of-a-kind residential development\u201d on the golf course which closed at the beginning of November.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cClubLink has selected Geranium to joint venture with us and manage the redevelopment program,\u201d said Robert Visentin, Chief Financial officer of ClubLink, in the statement. \u201cJointly, we intend to proceed carefully and cautiously with a high quality development, having regard for our neighbours.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The joint venture, say the two groups, proposes to \u201cenhance the existing residential community\u201d built around the golf course and the development will be \u201csensitive and compatible with the surrounding community\u201d and integrated with the \u201cestablished character\u201d of the neighbourhood.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere is a strong market demand for high quality homes in Aurora, one of Ontario\u2019s most sought-after communities,\u201d added Cheryl Shindruk, Geranium\u2019s Executive Vice President.<\/p>\n<p>Redevelopment of the golf course will require multiple approvals at the municipal level, including zoning approvals, a review of subdivision plans, and amendments to the Town of Aurora\u2019s existing official plan. <\/p>\n<a
