Volunteer opportunities are now available to serve Salvation Army kettles in Aurora, Newmarket, East Gwillimbury, and Bradford.<\/p>\n

\u201cTry it, and experience it,\u201d Major Brina Bishop encourages. \u201cIt is just amazing to have that experience, that feeling you get\u2026knowing that two hours you offered is providing support for people who are so much less fortunate. Even those who are less fortunate find it very fulfilling as they stand on a kettle too. Even though they might receive support for it, it is a good feeling to get back.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to Mr. Bishop, after raising over $300,000 in last year\u2019s kettle campaign, their objective is to amass enough volunteers to ensure that no time slot goes vacant. <\/p>\n

\u201cIf that time slot is vacant, it means we\u2019re not receiving a donation that time slot could yield for us,\u201d he says. \u201cThese dollars go towards meeting the needs at Christmas, but also meeting the needs of our coming year. It is somewhat of a drawn-out campaign, but over five weeks to accumulate these resources is just phenomenal to be able to sustain us over the years and we are so grateful.\u201d<\/p>\n
