In an email, ClubLink\u2019s Tim Green said the decision to close the course \u2013 at a date which is yet to be confirmed \u2013 was a long-time coming as the club grappled to maintain its place. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cOver the last several years, Highland Gate has struggled to maintain a customer base and an acceptable amount of rounds to make the Club economically sustainable,\u201d said Mr. Green. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere are many contributing factors to this, not the least of which is a significantly over-supplied local market that has created unprecedented competition.
