With the recent onslaught of wins for the Aurora Tigers Junior A team, it comes as no surprise that a league-high nine players have been named to play in this month\u2019s Central Canada Cup All-Star Challenge.<\/p>\n

Representing the OJHL will be defencemen Eric Williams, Callum Fryer, and Noah Delmas, forwards Drake Board, Keaton Ratcliffe, Michael Laidley, Johnny Curran, and Cameron Morrison, and goaltender Andy Munroe.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt just shows what the Tigers\u2019 program is all about,\u201d said head coach James Richmond. \u201cGood players come in, develop, and hopefully move on to the next level.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s why I think players want to be in Aurora\u2026they get the chance to develop their skills to a high level.\u201d<\/p>\n

Coaching his young team to a record of 14-3-0-1 so far this season, Richmond was awarded a head coach position in the tournament as well.
\nThe massive size of the Ontario Junior Hockey League allows for four rosters to be put together for the tournament, each named after a high-profile league alumni. Richmond will head up team (Dale) Hawerchuk, joined by Fryer, Ratcliffe and Board.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m proud of it, it\u2019s quite an accomplishment,\u201d said Richmond. \u201cIt\u2019s an honour.\u201d<\/p>\n

However, Richmond said he is even more proud of seeing nine of his players selected.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat there tells me that the coaching staff is doing the right things for the kids.\u201d<\/p>\n

The tournament will be held November 14 – 16 at the MasterCard Centre in Etobicoke. The formatting of the tournament is quite unique, with teams playing two twenty-minute halves in what is destined to be a showcase of speed and intensity.<\/p>\n
