At last Wednesday\u2019s Sport Aurora All-Candidates meeting, what started out as being a reasonably well-intentioned question and answer period, ended up being a tongue lashing by John Gallo claiming that the Mayor\u2018s Golf Tournament, organized by VOLUNTEERS was non-transparent.
\nNothing could be further from the truth, and the toxic environment that exists in this campaign has once again been fuelled by John Gallo\u2019s attempt to cast aspersions that are unfounded, misleading and unprofessional.
\nThis year\u2019s Mayor\u2019s Golf Tournament raised slightly over $66,000. ($170,000. during Mayor Dawe\u2019s term of 4 years) and donations were made to the following organizations:<\/p>\n

ABLE Network
\nAurora Historical Society
\nAurora Sports Hall of Fame
\nAurora United Church
\nBelinda\u2019s Place
\nBig Brothers Big Sisters of York
\nCHATS \u2013 Community Home Assistance to Seniors
\nDoane House Hospice
\nHollandview Retirement Community
\nHospice King Aurora
\nMarquee Theatrical Productions
\nQueen\u2019s York Rangers 2799 Army Cadet Corp.
\nSafehaven Project for Community Living
\nWelcome Table
\nWomen\u2019s Centre of York Region
\nYork Region Children\u2019s Fund<\/p>\n

Mayor Geoff Dawe\u2019s strong commitment to the improvement of our community by his honesty and selfless attitude is not deserving of this type of criticism, especially in light of so many organizations\u2019 having benefited from this event.
