{"id":5328,"date":"2014-01-29T15:32:58","date_gmt":"2014-01-29T20:32:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.newspapers-online.com\/auroran\/?p=5328"},"modified":"2014-02-05T14:27:39","modified_gmt":"2014-02-05T19:27:39","slug":"police-probe-new-lead-in-lewis-mcfarlane-murder","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newspapers-online.com\/auroran\/police-probe-new-lead-in-lewis-mcfarlane-murder\/","title":{"rendered":"Police probe new lead in Lewis-McFarlane murder"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>By Brock Weir<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Police investigating the murder of Aurora resident Shirley Lewis-McFarlane were checking into a new lead Tuesday. <\/p>\n<p>As The Auroran went to press, Superintendent Yvonne Martin Daley of the Jamaica Constabulary Force, confirmed their Major Investigations Task Force had discovered a new piece of evidence after acquaintances held for questioning earlier this month had been released. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are working on some very strong leads,\u201d she said. \u201cWe had to release the persons we had in custody because the kind of information we would have wanted [from them] we didn\u2019t get. We are working on some new leads coming out of some forensic evidence we got on the ground.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Martin Daley added further information would be forthcoming later this week. <\/p>\n<p>Lewis-McFarlane\u2019s body was discovered in her Discovery Bay, Jamaica home on December 30.
