This week\u2019s SeniorScape article is brought to you by the letter \u201cC\u201d.
\nAs Canadians we contribute through community spirit, care giving, compassion and caring for our fellow citizens. As senior citizens, we contribute through an added caring spirit for those of us who we love whom are battling cancer, those of us whom are cancer survivors and those of us who contribute financially, technically, medically and emotionally to finding a cure for all forms of cancer.
\n\u201cWe shall draw from the heart of suffering itself the means of inspiration and survival.\u201d ~Winston Churchill.
\nThe Letter \u201cC\u201d leads the way in many positive experiences in our life, particularly as seen and experienced at the Aurora Seniors Centre:<\/p>\n

Competition<\/strong>
\nAurora seniors compete in good spirit in many activities such as carpet bowling, bocce, table tennis and pickle ball, just to name a few. These various fun and competitive activities are a lead indicator that health of mind and spirit are an integral part of seniors\u2019 active life in Aurora.
\nCompetition for our community\u2019s seniors of all levels of skill and experience is also widely participated in by all the various organized card playing groups actively involved at the Centre. From Bridge to Bid Euchre to Poker to Canasta, there is a game for everyone throughout the week, throughout the year.
\nThen the letter \u201cC\u201d starts the description of the Chess Club, the Carvers, the Computer Club and the Choir, to name a few other groups that fit the theme of this column. <\/p>\n

2013 Evergreen Christmas Choir<\/strong>
\nThe Choir will be performing the 2013 Evergreen Christmas Choir event on Saturday, December 14 at 2.30 p.m. This event is not to be missed. There will be a guest appearance by The Strong Five Winds. The cost is only $5 with children 14 years of age and under admitted free of charge with a ticket.
\n\u201cC\u201d is for Coffee, at an affordable cost at the Aurora Seniors Centre! \u201cC\u201d is for Charles and the rest of the ASA Committee members for all they do on a volunteer basis on our behalf. \u201cC\u201d is for Carie (really spelt Karie but that spelling doesn\u2019t fit in with the theme!), for all she, Andrew, Bill, John and Greg do for us throughout the year.<\/p>\n

Computer Club<\/strong>
\nThe holiday season is here and the computer club will take some additional time to enjoy it as I\u2019m sure all ASA members will as well. We will have three Tuesday morning sessions in December. We assume that many of our members will have new \u201ctoys\u201d after the holidays so in order to assist you in getting started with your new devices we are going to run an extended drop-in on Thursday, January 2. We will be in the computer room to help you with whatever device you have during this session in the morning from 9.30 to 11.30 a.m. and again in the afternoon from 1.30 to 3.30 p.m. Come by and show us your new toy or let us help you get started with it. Computer Club meetings are regularly scheduled on Tuesdays 10 to 11.<\/p>\n

\u201cC\u201d is for Craftworks at the Barn & Kawartha Downs<\/strong>

The bus departs at 8 a.m. from the Aurora Community Centre and returns at about 6.30 p.m. The cost is only $43 for ASA members and $48 for non-members.

\nJimmy\u2019s last word: I never really have a last word, as there is always something else to say!
