Most Canadians have at least one great hockey story in them \u2013 but what about a hockey song?<\/p>\n

The Rinky Dinks, a group of local musicians, have pooled their talents and produced \u201cLet\u2019s Scream and Shout\u201d, a song they believe has what it takes to be named the CBC and Hockey Night in Canada\u2019s \u201cnext great hockey song.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Rinky Dinks were formed by Tom Donohue and Gail Bevilacqua, who brought together York Region musicians Larry and Maura Goguen, Steve Wilcox, Brendan Jones and Richard Baker to try and nip at the heels of Stompin\u2019 Tom\u2019s classic. <\/p>\n

\u201cBeing Canadian and a big supporter of hockey in any kind of format, be it minor hockey or pro-hockey, we\u2019re excited about this contest,\u201d says Mr. Jones, a resident of Aurora, who provides keyboard and vocals on the track. \u201cAs our song is called \u2018Scream and Shout\u2019, it conjures up images of boisterous support for our home team, and the good feelings before going out to games to support the team.\u201d<\/p>\n

Collaborating on a song is nothing new for Mr. Jones, who is an alumnus of the St. Michael\u2019s School choir in Toronto, and has a background as a church organist in a variety of venues, including a stint at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. This outing nevertheless presented a different kind of challenge.
\n\u201cIt was new for me to record in this manner, not live with everyone else, but just laying down a piano track to a piece of music that had already been recorded,\u201d he says. \u201cThat was a brand new experience for me, it took a while, but we all seemed to get what we wanted.\u201d<\/p>\n
