{"id":38611,"date":"2026-07-30T14:31:26","date_gmt":"2026-07-30T18:31:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newspapers-online.com\/auroran\/?p=38611"},"modified":"2026-07-30T14:31:48","modified_gmt":"2026-07-30T18:31:48","slug":"no-hydrant-service-in-july-22-fire","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newspapers-online.com\/auroran\/no-hydrant-service-in-july-22-fire\/","title":{"rendered":"No hydrant service in July 22 fire"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">An Aurora home that was damaged by an electrical fire on July 22 was not serviced by fire hydrants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Last Wednesday, at approximately 5.20 p.m., Central York Fire Services were called to a structure fire on Vandorf Sideroad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe property is in a rural area within Aurora with no hydrant water supply available,\u201d said the CYFS in a statement. \u201cTherefore, CYFS performed tanker shuttle operations. Richmond Hill Fire &amp; Emergency Services assisted with mutual aid and by providing a tanker truck and personnel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cUpon arrival, the first arriving fire engine reported heavy black smoke coming from the main floor. Fire crews made entry [and] located a fire in the basement.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">CYFS quickly deemed the blaze an electrical fire.<br \/><br \/>No injuries were reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cCYFS responded with four trucks, 17 firefighters, one Chief Officer and one Senior Officer.
