{"id":36862,"date":"2025-09-18T15:35:39","date_gmt":"2025-09-18T19:35:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newspapers-online.com\/auroran\/?p=36862"},"modified":"2025-09-18T15:35:58","modified_gmt":"2025-09-18T19:35:58","slug":"ground-broken-on-new-townhouse-complex-near-leslie-and-wellington","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newspapers-online.com\/auroran\/ground-broken-on-new-townhouse-complex-near-leslie-and-wellington\/","title":{"rendered":"Ground broken on new townhouse complex near Leslie and Wellington"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Ground was officially broken last week on a new development that will bring 30 \u201cmodern\u201d townhouses to Aurora.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Livewell on Aurora Townhomes, located at 1452 Wellington Street East, near Leslie Street, welcomed Newmarket-Aurora MP Sandra Cobena, Aurora-Oak Ridges-Richmond Hill MPP Michael Parsa, Mayor Tom Mrakas, and Councillors Harold Kim and John Gallo to the site on September 9 to preside over the ceremony.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The development boasts homes with modern layouts and energy-efficient features, \u201creflecting a commitment to sustainable growth and community building.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Officials described the planned townhomes as \u201cattainable modern units.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s no secret that these are challenging times,\u201d said developer Reza Esmaeili, CEO of Land Services Group. \u201cAcross the province, builders are slowing down, buyers are cautious, and hope in real estate fields has its lowest point in years \u2013 and yet, here we are. Breaking ground today is not just about starting construction, it\u2019s about making a statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAt Land Services Group, we believe that in the hardest times, leadership and vision matter the most. [This] is more than a development, it\u2019s a promise: a promise that communities can still grow, that families can still dream, and that the future can still be brighter than today. Aurora deserves attainable, sustainable, and inspiring homes, and even in the most difficult markets, we are committed to delivering them.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In his remarks, Mayor Mrakas said the project is an example of the developers\u2019 \u201creal commitment to delivering a community that blends modern luxury with the unique charm of Aurora.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThese new homes will not only provide housing opportunities, but also contribute to our Town\u2019s continued prosperity and vitality,\u201d he said. \u201cAs Mayor, I\u2019m proud to see projects like this move forward \u2013 projects that respect our vision for Aurora while enhancing the fabric of our Town.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>MP Cobena added that in a challenging \u201ceconomic situation\u201d there were still opportunities for growth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cExpanding the housing supply is essential to keep our communities vibrant and inclusive,\u201d she said. \u201cBy introducing these townhomes, Land Services Group is helping to meet that need, providing attainable, well-designed options that reflect the changing needs of Aurora\u2019s population. These homes will not only give residents a place to call home, but it will strengthen our Town by supporting local businesses, school services, and ensuring Aurora remains a thriving community for generations to come.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These sentiments were echoed by Ward 6\u2019s Councillor Kim, who said the project \u201cillustrates what can be achieved when municipalities and local residents partner with builders.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe development is about more than just houses \u2013 it\u2019s about building community and shaping a bright future,\u201d he said. \u201cI\u2019m excited to see this vision come to life and witness the positive impact it will have on this neighbourhood for years to come.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Added Councillor Gallo: \u201cAs a Councillor for the Town of Aurora, I\u2019m proud to be here today for this ground-breaking of this exciting project\u2026 Now, I\u2019ll be honest, most of the time when we dig big holes in Aurora it\u2019s because the watermain has been replaced, but today we\u2019re digging to build something new, something that will bring lasting value to our community.
