{"id":36236,"date":"2025-05-08T17:24:55","date_gmt":"2025-05-08T21:24:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.newspapers-online.com\/auroran\/?p=36236"},"modified":"2025-05-15T15:43:34","modified_gmt":"2025-05-15T19:43:34","slug":"southlake-run-nears-500000-goal-with-fundraising-window-set-to-close-friday","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newspapers-online.com\/auroran\/southlake-run-nears-500000-goal-with-fundraising-window-set-to-close-friday\/","title":{"rendered":"Southlake Run nears $500,000 goal \u2013 with fundraising window set to close Friday"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The 2025 Nature\u2019s Emporium Run for Southlake, which took place on Newmarket\u2019s Davis Drive on Sunday, April 27, was another resounding success for the local hospital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nearly 1,500 runners took part in the annual Run, which started off as the Hartwell Challenge, an Aurora event founded in memory of late councillor and marathon runner Bob Hartwell.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This year\u2019s fundraising goal, set by the Southlake Foundation, stands at $500,000 and with just a few days left to get your pledges in, they were tantalizingly close to meeting their mark.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At press time this week, pledges had totalled $457,609.68 \u2013 handily surpassing the $450,000 raised last year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The top individual fundraisers at press time this week was Krissy Young, whose efforts have collected $15,817 for the Foundation. Rounding out the top three were Beth Egan at $10,300, and Aurora Mayor Tom Mrakas with $9,500.
