Police are asking for the public\u2019s assistance for information relating to a violent home invasion in Aurora\u2019s southwest last Thursday morning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Two Aurora residents suffered serious, but non-life-threatening injuries following the home invasion, which took place in the area of Murray Drive and Kennedy Street West<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOn Thursday, March 6, 2025, at approximately 11:20 a.m., Police were called to a residence in the area of Murray Drive and Kennedy Street for a home invasion,\u201d said Constable Kevin Nebrija in a statement. \u201cThe female victim reported answering the door after someone was knocking aggressively. As the front door opened, a male suspect forced his way into the residence and attempted to restrain her.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cA second victim, who was also at the residence, attempted to intervene and was violently assaulted. The suspect fled the residence in an unknown direction on foot, without making any demands for valuables or stealing anything.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Police describe the suspect as a white male between 20 and 30 years of age, standing approximately 6\u2019 and weighing 175 \u2013 180 pounds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They say he was wearing a black balaclava with two eye holes and a separate mouth hole, a mid-weight black puffy coat, black pants, and black boot-like footwear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYork Regional Police would like to warn the community to always know who is at your door before opening it,\u201d say Police. \u201cThis can be done from a window where the person would not be able to see you, for example, a second floor or living room window. If able, use security cameras or peepholes to verify who is at the door before opening it. If you feel unsafe, trust your instincts and call 9-1-1 right away.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the 60 days leading up to Friday, March 7, the York Regional Police’s Community Safety Map indicates there have been 12 residential break-and-enters and six commercial break-and-enters in Aurora.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
