The Magna Hoedown, York Region\u2019s biggest annual party, may be on hold until 2022, but that doesn\u2019t mean local charities who share in the $500,000 the event regularly brings in won\u2019t be left out in the cold.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

30 charities and non-profit organizations will benefit from the Hoedown Community Fund, which was established earlier this year in the wake of Hoedown 2021\u2019s cancellation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The recipients were announced last week and, collectively, the organizations help more than 181,000 York Region residents this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI think it is a testament to Magna\u2019s continued commitment to supporting our community that they are not only donating to local organizations during this critical time, but that they have expanded the number of charitable recipients from 20 to 30 organizations this year,\u201d said Erin Cerenzia, Manager of Magna\u2019s Neighbourhood Network, and Chair of the Hoedown Committee. \u201cOur Neighbourhood Network team will also be running some virtual programming for the community to participate in to raise awareness \u2013 and hopefully even more donations! \u2013 for the selected recipients.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
