If you\u2019ve received a parking ticket over the last week, and have had the misfortune of receiving them before, you might have noticed what was on your windshield looks a little bit different.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Well, depending on your perspective, there\u2019s some good news or some bad news: they\u2019re legit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Town of Aurora began the process of rolling out a new style of parking tickets on December 7.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new look is designed to increase both accessibility and durability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAurora has moved to a new vendor, GTECHNA, to issue and pay for parking tickets,\u201d said the Town in a statement. \u201cThe new parking tickets will be yellow in colour, water resistant and will contain bilingual wording. The existing white and red parking tickets will be discontinued, however any issued tickets up until December 31, 2020, will remain valid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cInstructions on how to pay for your parking ticket will be printed on the back of each new ticket along with a printed link to GTECHNA\u2019s website, where the new parking tickets can be paid. Additionally, users can view their parking ticket history and photos of the infraction. The old red and white parking tickets can still be paid online through paytickets.ca.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Occasional Use on Street Parking Permits (OUPP) have also been introduced.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here, residents and visitors to Aurora can apply online for up to 12 free parking passes per vehicle each year through the new platform.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe OUPP assists residents who require an extra parking space for overnight visitors or require an extra temporary space,\u201d said the Town. \u201cPermits are free and available to apply online for 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The permit will only be valid for 24 hours from the time the permit is applied for online. Permits are issued electronically and are automatically attached to the license plate so no print and display is required.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
