{"id":26233,"date":"2020-03-26T19:46:56","date_gmt":"2020-03-26T23:46:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.newspapers-online.com\/auroran\/?p=26233"},"modified":"2020-04-03T17:07:44","modified_gmt":"2020-04-03T21:07:44","slug":"supporting-local-businesses-made-easier-through-partnership","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newspapers-online.com\/auroran\/supporting-local-businesses-made-easier-through-partnership\/","title":{"rendered":"Supporting local businesses made easier through partnership"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>In this challenging crisis, local small businesses are\namong the hardest hit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But buying local amid the COVID-19 pandemic is set to get\na little easier this week thanks to the Aurora Chamber of Commerce, the Town of\nAurora, and local business Addison Marketing Solutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Later this week, they will launch a new online resource\nwhich will act as a guide for area residents looking to support their\nneighbours. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>ShopFromHomeAurora.ca is expected to go live by the end\nof the week and will provide up-to-date information on local businesses and\nwhat they continue to offer through e-commerce, online and virtual services \u2013\nas well as delivery options.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe know that Aurora residents want to see their\nfavourite local businesses come through this difficult situation by providing\nthem with the support that they can,\u201d says Sandra Ferri, President &amp; CEO of\nthe Aurora Chamber of Commerce. \u201cThis website is designed to help them do that,\nby supporting them through e-commerce, home deliveries, pickup and whatever\nmeasures they have.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since they first floated the idea to Chamber members, Ms.\nFerri says it was met with an \u201coverwhelming response\u201d and most of Monday\nafternoon had been spent working with numerous local businesses looking to\nhighlight the services and products they are still able to offer to the\ncommunity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAddison stepped forward and said they would build this\nwebsite for us free of charge as a service to the residents and business\ncommunity, and we are really grateful for that,\u201d says Ms. Ferri. \u201cWe are seeing\na lot of companies step up in doing what they can to support other businesses\nin Town.
