April event was set to have free admission thanks to sponsorship<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Aurora Chamber of Commerce\u2019s 2020 Home & Living\nShow, which was set to take place next month at the Stronach Aurora Recreation\nComplex, has been postponed due to concerns over COVID-19.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After several days of consideration, the Chamber\nannounced its decision to put the popular expo on hold over the weekend, as the\nChamber and its business members alike continue to grapple with \u201cnavigating\nthese turbulent times in the world.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe Aurora Chamber of Commerce (ACOC) continues to\nmonitor and assess new developments pertaining to COVID-19,\u201d said Sandra Ferri,\nExecutive Director of the Aurora Chamber of Commerce, in a statement. \u201cIn times\nof uncertainty for individuals and businesses, it is important that we focus on\neveryone\u2019s safety and well-being first and foremost, while continuing to\nsupport one another in whatever way possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIn light of current circumstances, the ACOC has made the\ndecision to postpone this year\u2019s Home & Living Show. We will be working\nwith the Town of Aurora and monitoring the COVID-19 pandemic to determine when\nthe show can be rescheduled. Rest assured, anyone who has registered for a booth\nat the Home & Living Show will have their booth confirmed at the\nrescheduled event. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe have also made the decision to cancel all regularly\nscheduled ACOC events from now until April 5, in line with the actions being\ntaken by the Ontario Government and municipalities in the GTA.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Had the Chamber\u2019s Home & Living Show gone ahead in\nApril, it was set to track very well with foot traffic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kempenfelt Windows and Doors stepped up as a significant\nsponsor of the event to cover the cost of admission. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cKempenfelt was looking for a way to give back to the\ncommunity and support the Home Show,\u201d said Ms. Ferri, shortly after the\nsponsorship was announced. \u201cWe were very grateful they stepped up and agreed to\ndo this for all the attendees. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Free admission was not the only big change scheduled for\nthe show. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

RS Homes, a luxury custom home builder and renovator, had\nstepped up as Stage Sponsor, paving the way for a series of new and interactive\ntalks and sessions for event-goers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThey will be bringing in experienced designers and\narchitects that have been featured at the Toronto Home Show for many years, and\nhosting panels where you can bring your design questions and have them answered\nby top experts,\u201d said Ms. Ferri. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Food trucks were also set to make a splash outside the\nSARC, being on hand for the first time to welcome guests with several tasty\noptions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the end of last week, the Aurora Chamber was nearly 90\nper cent sold on booths. Details on admissions, stage offerings, and other\ndetails of a rescheduled home show will be announced in due course.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
