If you missed them the first time, prepare for a second\nHoneymoon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Classic Canadian bands Honeymoon Suite and The Spoons\nwill headline next month\u2019s 2019 Ribfest, a return for both bands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The lineup was announced Wednesday by Mayor Tom Mrakas at\nConcerts in the Park, featuring teaser chords performed by the evening\u2019s\nguests, Sultans of String, before the Mayor made the announcement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe first band for Friday night was the headliner band\nthat performed at Aurora\u2019s Ribfest back in 2013,\u201d said Mayor Mrakas, teasing Honeymoon\nSuite with the crowd. \u201cThey originally performed in 1981 and grew in popularity\nas they won the Juno Group of the Year Award. Decades later, they are still\ntouring and pleasing fans across North America.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Honeymoon Suite will perform at Machell Park on the\nevening of August 23.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The following night, it\u2019s another trip down memory lane\nwith The Spoons, who last performed in Aurora under less-than-ideal\ncircumstances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis band was formed in 1979, originating in Burlington,\u201d\nsaid Mayor Mrakas. \u201cThis band was one of the first three bands to have a video\nplayed on the MuchMusic channel when it was first launched and we were\nfortunate to have them perform at Ribfest in 2015 \u2013 but this was the year we\ngot more than 25mm of rain and just a handful of people saw them live.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So, make sure you have your rain gear ready just in case before they hit the stage on August 24.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
