It appears that York Region Council is now\nfavouring three new provincial highway links far separated from the heart of\nAurora.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But a new St John\u2019s Sideroad and Highway\n404 interchange had been considered important earlier. However, there is no\nindication it\u2019s classed as a priority project currently.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Due to a lack of good east-west collector\nroad alternatives, east and west travel in Aurora is mostly restricted to\nWellington Street along with St John\u2019s Sideroad to the north or Bloomington\nRoad to the south. But the GO Train tracks on Wellington Street are currently a\nlevel crossing with drop gates and red wig-wag flashers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Once again there has been plans of a grade\nseparation there where car traffic goes underneath the train tracks.  It\nwould become a lengthy restrictive project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In consideration of the possible\nalternative routes for Aurora area traffic it might be prudent to have the new\nSt. John\u2019s Sideroad and Highway 404 interchange built and functioning prior to\nany beginning of the Wellington Street and GO Train track grade separation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The rush hour traffic would be seriously\nchallenged for months on end by a lack of good alternative routes without the\nextra interchange.  Possibly the planners are already considering what may\nbe at stake.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
