{"id":24048,"date":"2019-06-20T18:40:28","date_gmt":"2019-06-20T22:40:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.newspapers-online.com\/auroran\/?p=24048"},"modified":"2019-06-20T18:40:37","modified_gmt":"2019-06-20T22:40:37","slug":"voters-deceived-on-stable-neighbourhoods-says-reader","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newspapers-online.com\/auroran\/voters-deceived-on-stable-neighbourhoods-says-reader\/","title":{"rendered":"Voters \u201cdeceived\u201d on Stable Neighbourhoods, says reader"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Why are we unable to\ntrust politicians to live up to their campaign promises? <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It seems many have\nhidden agendas that do not serve the interests of voters who elected them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Politicians have the\nunique ability to speak out of both sides of their mouths.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Some mislead voters\nby saying they will protect \u201cstable neighbourhoods\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Mayor and Council\nseem to be misleading residents in three neighbourhood study areas. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As Lenore Pressley\nsaid in her May 9 Open Letter to Mayor and Council: \u201cThey are treating us like\nfools.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Town of Aurora\nhired a consultant who was charged with presenting a report to create\nneighbourhood stability within the three study areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This report turned\nout to be highly biased in favour of huge 4,000 square foot three-storey homes\nthat could be 32 feet high.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The consultants\u2019 lack\nof logical standards and assumptions are highly unprofessional proving that he\nwas unfamiliar with the very neighbourhood he was supposed to be studying.
