This week\u2019s column is a slight departure\nfrom my regular weekly columns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is a shameless appeal for support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This weekend on Sunday is the Annual Run\nfor Southlake and once again Team Aurora will be well represented! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As residents, business owners and\ncommunity organizations already know, Aurora is a highly sought-after community\nfor businesses and residential home buyers. We\u2019re known for our small town\ncharm and big city amenities. One of the most important amenities we can offer\nour residents is the compassion and care that our regional hospital offers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Southlake Regional Health Centre is a\nworld-class medical facility that delivers leading edge care to the citizens of\nAurora.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With more than 570 physicians and 3,456\nstaff, the hospital offers comprehensive patient care through their Regional\nCancer, Cardiac and Mental Health programs. In the last year, the Maternal\nChild Unit saw more than 2,500 births and the Emergency Department received\nmore than 110,000 visits!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The hospital is growing, as are the needs\nof our community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Southlake is here for Aurorans when we\nneed it and we want to ensure that it has the tools and technologies to care\nfor our residents well into the future. That\u2019s why I\u2019m asking for your support\nin sponsoring me for the Run for Southlake.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 5K Run for Southlake takes place on\nSunday, April 28, and funds raised support the most urgently needed tools and\nequipment \u2013  things the hospital\u2019s team\nof experts rely on to save lives and provide our community with the care it\ndeserves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
