A pair of Aurora\nsisters are making splashes in the sand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Csenge and Blanka\nLodi flew to the top of the podium at the recent Armory Youth Championship,\nheld in New York, featuring track and field athletes from both sides of the\nborder.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As longtime members\nof Flying Angels Track and Field Academy, home to a handful of athletes from\nthe 2016 Summer Olympics, the Lodis came home with a whopping five medals to\nadd to their already impressive collection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Blanka, a student at\nLight of Christ Catholic Elementary School, won gold in her age category in\nlong jump with a jump of 4.75m, good for a 0.07m reach past her second-place\nopponent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She topped off her\nmeet with a silver medal finish in the triple jump at 10.19m, all three medal\nrecipients far above the rest of the field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A student at Cardinal\nCarter Catholic High School, Csenge took to the track with the Flying Angels\nrelay team to take gold in the 4x200m relay, before adding a silver medal in\ntriple jump with a score of 10.10m. She finished off her podium sweep with a\nbronze medal in long jump, leaping 4.75m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Showcasing their bevy\nof medals and ribbons at their Aurora home, neither sister is a stranger to the\nspotlight at both the club and scholastic level, with numerous ribbons from the\nYCDSB. Both competed in the prestigious AAU Indoor Championship in Washington\nlast March, where Csenge finished sixth in triple jump while Blanka reached her\nrespective podium in a third-place finish.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Blanka continued to\nadd to her collection at the recent Minor Track Association Ontario\nChampionship, this time earning gold in the triple jump category with a distance\nof 10.61m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Like all well-trained\nathletes, both young stars are already looking towards the future: Blanka is\nanticipating continuing to push herself at the high school level, adding that\nshe \u201calways wants track and field to be a part of (her) life\u201d, focusing on the\n5m triple jump and the 11m long jump.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For Csenge, she has her sights set on a\nberth in the OFSAA Championship in Guelph this June, taking on the best in\nOntario scholastic track and field. With similar goals to her sister of a 5.2m\ntriple jump and an 11m long jump, Csenge is also hoping to land a spot on Team\nOntario at the Summer Games, and eventually reach the international level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It comes as no surprise that both Blanka\nand Csenge rank the long and triple jumps as their favourite events.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These lofty goals are certainly in reach:\nthe young star siblings have a mindset well beyond their years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIf you have a dream or goal, follow it,\u201d\nsaid Csenge. \u201cWork hard for it, because you never know what your limit is.\nAnyone can go far and become someone big, and that someone can be you.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
