The Queen\u2019s York\nRangers were on the mark last week in their zone championship in marksmanship,\nreaching the podium several times.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The \u2018B\u2019 team, led by\nTeam Captain Hannah Gabriel and comprised of Vivian Mullins, Stephanie Wang,\nHalley Ye, and Eric Zheng, placed first in both prone and standing and earned\nthe first-place position overall, bringing home a set of gold medals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was a second-place\nfinish for the Rangers\u2019 \u2018A\u2019 squad, with Team Captain Maya Neumann, Nicholas\nErtl, Samantha Toh, Samara Parisi, and Brendan Ross each earning a silver medal\nfor their shooting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A salute also goes\nout to the junior team, comprised of cadets aged fifteen and under, who placed\ntenth out of 24 teams in their division including an eighth-place finish in the\nstanding position. Those involved were Team Captain Kaiden Bulmer, Samuel\nBennett, Ethan McCue, Yves Zaidfield, and Yuan Jin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Rangers also\nleft their mark in the individual portion of the event, with both Parisi and\nNeumann reaching the top of the podium in the Junior and Open categories\nrespectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ye also earned\nbronze in the individual Junior event, while Gabriel and Ertl completed the\nQueen\u2019s York Ranger sweep of the Open category with silver and bronze finishes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Honourable mentions\ngo to Mullins who placed fourth in the Open, Wang who placed fifth in the Open,\nToh who placed 13th in the Open, Zheng who placed eighth in the Junior and Ross\nwho placed ninth in Junior.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Both the \u2018A\u2019 and \u2018B\u2019\nsquads will be moving on to the regional championships in early April.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, the\nRangers\u2019 girls biathlon squad is in Prince Edward Island for the national\nchampionships after a stellar performance in their respective regionals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Master Corporal\nKaren Poncelet, Corporal Leia Mullins, Warrant Officer Jessica Matile, and\nSeargant Vivian Mullins all qualified for the competition after first place\nfinishes in the team relay in Sault Ste. Marie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
