continue hockey dominance with latest CISAA title"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>By Jake Courtepatte<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Count \u2018em: that\u2019s half a decade of the St. Andrew\u2019s Saints proving to be the best around in prep school hockey.<br \/>\nThe varsity Saints captured their record sixth-straight CISAA league championship at Upper Canada College in Toronto on Friday, a rematch of the 2016-17 final featuring plenty of grudges.<br \/>\nThe top two teams in the DI league clashed in Game One at LaBrier Arena on Wednesday, where the Blues took a 1 \u2013 0 lead late in the first, before Isaac Emon tied it for the Saints.<br \/>\nChristian MacDougall found twine twice in a row to give the Saints a 3 \u2013 1 lead after two periods, though two straight from the Blues past goalie Aidan Hosein knotted it back up.<br \/>\nMacDougall completed the hat trick to regain the lead, while Ian Maclean added one late for a final 5 \u2013 4 score.<br \/>\nNeeding one more victory to clinch the championship, the Saints travelled to Toronto on Friday to face Upper Canada in their home barn, where the jeers from the home crowd did nothing to slow them down.<br \/>\nWith the Saints up 5 \u2013 3 late in the second period, the Blues scored twice in the third to send the game to overtime.<br \/>\nJust under nine minutes into the sudden death period, it was Matthew Stienburg who played the overtime hero, clinching the Saints record-breaking championship.<br \/>\nHosein earned both of the wins for the Saints.<br \/>\nThe Under-14 Saints also captured the D1 title earlier in the day, defeating St. Michael\u2019s College by a score of 3 \u2013 1.<br \/>\nAs is yearly tradition, the varsity squad will follow up by hosting the National Independent School Invitational Championship on campus this weekend.<br \/>\nTwelve of the top independent teams from across Canada will hit the ice at LaBrier Arena, as well as the Blues home ice. <\/p>\n<a
