{"id":19652,"date":"2018-01-24T17:41:48","date_gmt":"2018-01-24T22:41:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.newspapers-online.com\/auroran\/?p=19652"},"modified":"2018-01-24T17:41:48","modified_gmt":"2018-01-24T22:41:48","slug":"four-mustangs-named-to-yraa-all-star-football-squad","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newspapers-online.com\/auroran\/four-mustangs-named-to-yraa-all-star-football-squad\/","title":{"rendered":"Four Mustangs named to YRAA All Star football squad"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>By Jake Courtepatte<br \/>\n<\/strong><br \/>\nYear after year, it comes as no surprise to see a handful of Mustangs names among the All-Stars nods in the York Region Athletic Association football league.<br \/>\nThis year\u2019s crop includes the likes of receiver Joshua Torres, punter Andrew End, defensive back Matthew Vassos, and offensive lineman Jack Johnson.<br \/>\nTorres, named as an honourable mention following his first year with the Mustangs program, finished the season with eighteen receptions for 294 total yards, including three touchdowns.<br \/>\nAndrew End took punts for the league\u2019s third best team defensively, while Vassos was part of a defensive lineup to allow just 85 points throughout the YRAA\u2019s regular season.<br \/>\nThe league champion Huron Heights Warriors of Newmarket dominated the All-Star lineup, voted on by the league\u2019s coaches. Quarterback Sebastian Scott earned the only All-Star nod at the position, while Huron running backs Jericho Daher and Julian Curia made up the tandem at their position.<br \/>\nTwelve other Warriors
