{"id":17707,"date":"2017-07-05T16:08:57","date_gmt":"2017-07-05T20:08:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.newspapers-online.com\/auroran\/?p=17707"},"modified":"2017-07-13T11:15:26","modified_gmt":"2017-07-13T15:15:26","slug":"aurora-jays-winning-streak-snapped","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newspapers-online.com\/auroran\/aurora-jays-winning-streak-snapped\/","title":{"rendered":"Aurora Jays\u2019 winning streak snapped"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>By Jake Courtepatte<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>An unfamiliar \u201czero\u201d appeared on the Aurora Jays\u2019 scoresheet last week, the senior squad\u2019s first loss since late May.<br \/>\nThe normally offensive-heavy Jays were on the wrong end of a 6 \u2013 0 loss to the Midland Indians on the road on Thursday, with Nathan Robinson being tagged for two home runs on the mound while earning the loss.<br \/>\nSnapping a seven-game winning streak, the Jays 105 runs this season is good for third in the entire North Dufferin Baseball League behind just the Orangeville Giants and Bolton Brewers, though with games in hand against both.<br \/>\nPrior to the loss, the Jays were coming off of a 16 \u2013 8 drubbing of the Creemore Braves on Tuesday, where eighteen hits were spread across nine different batters.<br \/>\nAaron Giroux connected on four hits in his five at-bats, while Stephen Vallee and Chris Fafalios each had three hits of their own.<br \/>\nThe split week has halted the Jays\u2019 march to the top of the AA standings, now sitting five points back of the Giants while holding down fifth place with a record of 11-3-0.<br \/>\nThe regular season schedule will be put on hold this Saturday for the annual All-Star Game held in Midland. Giroux and Fafalios will be joined by Zach Wiseman in representing Aurora.<br \/>\nThe Jays will then visit the Clearview Orioles in New Lowell on Sunday, a rescheduled game from a washout earlier
