On the front page of your paper for the week of May 19, the picture of the Dutch-Canadian Friendship Garden was nice \u2013 with one small detail wrong. It was the 70th anniversary, instead of the 60th.
\nI happened to be in Holland as a 20 year old Canadian soldier, so I remember it well.
\nI have also been back to Holland for the 50th anniversary in 1995, the 55th anniversary in 2000, and the 60th anniversary celebrations in 2005. I would have gone for the 70th, but for health reasons could not.
\nI think you owe an apology to our Dutch friends. They will never forget the date, nor will I.<\/p>\n
