\u201cwilling to attempt mediation\u201d over Highland Gate"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Town of Aurora is \u201cwilling to attempt mediation\u201d to resolve outstanding concerns surrounding the proposed redevelopment of Highland Gate Golf Course.<\/p>\n<p>Council endorsed a motion from Mayor Geoff Dawe on Tuesday night which formally opposed the applications of the Highland Gate Developments Inc. \u201cin its current form\u201d of 184 detached homes and a 10 storey condo. <\/p>\n<p>The resolution directed municipal staff to \u201cengage all interested parties in mediation with respect to the appeal and address Council\u2019s concerns while exploring better options in terms of design and density for the site that would best suit the community.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In a statement on Wednesday, the Town clarified its position further.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere has been much discussion about the proposed residential development on the current site of Highland Gate Golf Club,\u201d said CAO Doug Nadorozny in the statement, noting Highland Gate Developments Inc.\u2019s decision to take their application to the Ontario Municipal Board. \u201cAs with any development, there are several steps in the approval process, including a number of public meetings and consultations that occurred over the course of the last year. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cAurora Town Council is willing to attempt mediation with other parties to try and resolve Council\u2019s concerns.\u201d<\/p>\n<a class=\"synved-social-button synved-social-button-share synved-social-size-24 synved-social-resolution-single
