It would shortly be Christmas and all through the day
\nI was thinking and wondering what I should say.
\nThe world was so different; it was quite a surprise.
\nShould l be honest; would that be wise.<\/p>\n

The Middle East mess can keep me up at night,
\nAnd ignoring global warming had never been right.
\nHere at home and elsewhere men and women need work.
\nMany go to the food banks which really must hurt.<\/p>\n

We all pay our taxes and do what we can,
\nBut it\u2019s never enough, we can\u2019t fill the demand.
\nThe rich getting richer in our globalized plan,
\nIs something I must say, I don\u2019t understand.<\/p>\n

Yet, Christmas is coming, there\u2019s no way around that,
\nSo some positive words must be said in this chat.
\nSo, I take them from Dickens who had Scrooge who saw ghosts
\nWho awoke a changed man and who wrote a great toast.<\/p>\n

Dickens\u2019 Scrooge, he was changed: he felt joy Christmas day,
\nSo I\u2019ll forget this sad world and behave the same way.
\nI\u2019ll see family and friends, dismiss thoughts that are glum,
\nAnd like Tiny Tim echo, \u201cGod Bless us every one.\u201d<\/p>\n

Yes, our world needs a blessing, as do all living here.
\nMay things change for the better in the coming New Year. <\/p>\n
