I would like to thank Mr. Thompson for noting the invaluable contribution Wendy Browne provides to Aurora Ribfest, and for addressing this significant oversight in The Auroran\u2019s August 6 Ribfest article.
\nI was pleased to credit Wendy\u2019s hard work, dedication and instrumental efforts, both through the Rotary Club of Aurora and, independently, during the Ribfest announcement.
\nWhile it is unfortunate this too was absent from the Ribfest article, I am glad to have the opportunity to set the record straight and give credit where it is due.
\nPuzzlingly, however, was Mr. Thompson\u2019s insinuation that I do not attend Ribfest and simply posed for a photo-op. I have been attending Ribfest for many years, and have attended the Friday, Saturday and Sunday of each Ribfest since I was elected Mayor in 2010 \u2013 an attendance well documented by The Auroran\u2019s excellent coverage of this annual event.
\nI enjoy Ribfest immensely and have been proud to support this fabulous event through my efforts on Council, my active participation and, yes, through photo-ops.
\nTown staff and volunteers like Wendy Browne do a great job making Ribfest a signature event for our community, and I am really looking forward to attending and promoting the 10th anniversary event this year. If you are attending, Mr. Thompson, perhaps our paths will cross and you can introduce yourself to me. You never know, we may even pose for a photo-op together.<\/p>\n
