The Spectrum Baton Club of Aurora\/Newmarket competed at the Canadian National Baton Twirling Championships at UOIT\/Durham College from June 29 \u2013 July 2 2015, with excellent results.<\/p>\n

The club\u2019s Senior Twirl Team, Pompeii, reclaimed the National Gold Medal with an inspiring, exciting performance.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe really trained for this and we definitely had our sights set on gold, but the competition was stiff,\u201d said Jennifer Meron, club head coach and technical director. \u201cI really credit the girls for their teamwork, and support of each other, which enabled us to rise to the challenge.\u201d <\/p>\n

The club\u2019s individually competing athletes also did themselves proud.<\/p>\n

The senior pair of Amanda D\u2019Attolico and Natalie Seguin claimed the silver medal with a crowd pleasing routine.<\/p>\n

Teija RomColthoff, who will compete at World International Cup in Abbotsford, BC in August earned a spot on the podium in 3 Baton, solo and solo dance.
\nLeyla Ozturk had a wonderful performance to claim silver in the Senior 2 Baton division, and Bridget Lynagh earned silver in the Junior 3 Baton division.<\/p>\n

Additionally, several of the club athletes turned in personal best performances to earn top ten national placements.<\/p>\n
